stedelijk @ university of amsterdam

The University of Amsterdam is one of the main hubs of Amsterdam’s academic life and community. To connect the research activities of the Stedelijk Museum with the research that is done in many disciplinary area’s relating to the arts at the University of Amsterdam, the two institutions have joined forces on many occasions during the previous Public Programs, in organizing lecture, debates and symposia. In order to further consolidate this collaboration between the University of Amsterdam and the Stedelijk, the Public Program of Temporary Stedelijk 3 presents Stedelijk @ University of Amsterdam.  In addition to both being involved in the lecture and debate series Facing Forward: Art & Theory from a Future Perspective, the two institutions will organize a 4-day symposium about the relation between the aesthetic and the political, referring to the work of Karl Marx as a point of departure for an extensive exchange between scholars, curators and artists.
