temporary stedelijk 3

stedelijk @ de ateliers

De Ateliers is an independent artists’ institute directed by visual artists. It focuses on the creative development of young, talented artists from the Netherlands and abroad, offering 23 studio spaces in the monumental 19th-century building on Amsterdam’s Stadhouderskade. A space for self-reflection, experiment, and critical guidance, De Ateliers is one of the oldest post-academic institutions in the Netherlands. In addition to providing studio spaces to emerging artists, De Ateliers offers a public program encompassing spring and autumn lectures, featuring artists of international stature. Since the founding of De Ateliers in 1963, many of its residents have exhibited at the Stedelijk Museum or been related to the museum’s activities in other ways. To celebrate this institutional affiliation, the Stedelijk and De Ateliers have developed a Public Program comprising four film screenings.

The film program developed by the Stedelijk and De Ateliers focuses solely on former participants, guest tutors, and artist tutors of De Ateliers. Four artists from various backgrounds and representing different practices will present their own recent films and discuss them in an informal setting.
